    Dear Mr. McGuire,

I am writing to follow up on the message below. Your challenger, Melissa Dart, has pledged her support for the Integrity Challenge and we are hoping you will do the same.

    Thank you!

    July 25, 2017

    Dear Delegate,

Virginia voters visit candidate websites because they want to learn more about the people who wish to represent their interests in Richmond. Our July 20 op-ed in The Richmond Times Dispatch explains why candidates should make their personal and campaign finance disclosures available and easily accessible on their campaign websites. The bottom line is this: Voters want to elect candidates who are proactively transparent and accountable to those they serve.

The Coalition for Integrity, a non-partisan, non-profit organization focused on promoting integrity in the public and private sectors, is calling on all General Assembly candidates to endorse the Virginia Integrity Challenge and pledge to do the following:

    • I pledge to disclose on my campaign website all contributions received and expenditures made by my campaign committee.

    • I pledge to disclose on my campaign website my financial disclosure forms.

    • I pledge to disclose on my campaign website all gifts that I receive while running for office or serving in office, including gifts given to my immediate family members.

In endorsing the challenge, you agree to provide links on your campaign website to your campaign contribution/expenditure disclosures, your financial disclosures, and your gift disclosures. One very easy way to share these disclosures with voters is to simply link to your candidate profile on the vpap.org website. We suggest including a simple sentence on the “about me” or “meet the candidate” page of your campaign website that says, “I support transparency and will serve with integrity. My personal, gift and campaign finance disclosures can be found here.”

We pledge to publicize on our website and on social media all candidates who endorse the Virginia Integrity Challenge.

If you take the pledge, email us and let us know and we will get the word out to Virginia voters!

    Sincerely,

    The Coalition for Integrity Team

    John:

I’m the treasurer of Friends of Cavalier, the PAC of Cavalier Rifle and Pistol Club. We will support your campaign financially as best we can. In addition we have many members who like in your district so we would like to have at least one yard sign to display at Cavalier as soon as they are available. I’m in Glen Allen often and can stop in and pickup signs. Keep me updated on your campaign.

But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.

    Dear NBC12 Staff,

John McGuire candidate for the House of Delegates from District 56 has placed a big sign on the 1st exit to I-295, from Nuckols Road South, going towards Charlottesville.

Signs on the interstate or exit ramp are not allowed. However his sign has not been removed even after 3 days of reporting to VDOT. VDOT employee is helping him to give him distinct advantage. This is also creating traffic hazzard.

How can you trust this man to represent citizens of District 56 when he does not mind illegal activities to win the election?

    Mr. McGuire

There are grass roots efforts calling for states to pursue an Article V Convention of States to propose amendments to the US Constitution. The general effort is to get federal government influence and spending under control. Twelve states have called for such a convention.

I feel this effort is crucial to the future of our country. Do you have a position on this effort? If not, I encourage you to do so.

    Thanks, Tom Probst

I was all ready to vote for Craig, being impressed with his Pro 2A advocacy, then a neighbor told me they were “voting McGuire..”. Help me understand how your candidacy is different (better..) than your opponent. Hint: I am looking for impact on my liberties, including gun rights….

    Thanks,
